Alright, so you've rid yourself of the cockroaches but now you have a pesky fly problem. Instead of throwing away old fruit/meat/corpses you can just line your windows with "fly paper" (aka tape sticky side out) so when the whole swarm of flies eventually finds your home too disgusting to live in and try to escape they're funked because they'll be stuck to your window. Ha, humans always win!
